From the Bangkok Post:

An old bomb, believed to have been dropped from a plane during World War II, was found on the bank of Lang Suan river in Lang Suan district yesterday. The 200-pound bomb, about 70 cm in diameter and 120 cm long, was covered in mud.

It was discovered near a railway bridge by Niphon Maneenual, 35, who was digging at the site with a backhoe.

My husband has quite a few relatives living in Lang Suan, wonder if they heard about this? Lucky for the backhoe guy it didn't go off :o
According to the disposal unit, the bomb appeared to be in working condition, capable of a blast of a radius of up to one kilometre.
