sbk
From ThaisNews: The Thai cabinet on Tuesday approved a 33 kilovolt or KV underwater power line connecting the supply from the main land to Sri Borya, Pu Island and Phi Phi Don Island in Krabi as proposed by the Ministry of Interior. The 27 kilometre long cable, costing 620 million baht, is to be invested in by the Provincial Electricity Authority or PEA. According to the plan, the electricity fee, collected from consumers, will be higher in the beginning until it is cost effective. This excludes household consumers with maximum of 150 electric units per month. The project is scheduled to be completed by next year 2008. It is expected to enhance the stability of power supply for the rapid growth of local tourism. The underwater cable for Samui and Phangan has been a godsend. I remember before Phangan was connected to Samui how reallly terrible the electricity was. Now, its just kinda bad
