Pattaya's finest have once again been unable to find any evidence of prostitution in Thailand's most famous red light district.

Tourists have been advised to phone 191 if they spot anything.

Pattaya Update News posted a video and reported that a large contingent of police and military men joined with Department of Provincial Administration staff in inspecting Walking Street, South Pattaya last night.

The gathering strode manfully down the main drag and even went inside some establishments. Lots of pictures and videos were taken for the record.

The media said on Facebook that the point of the visit was to uncover evidence of prostitution and under age sex in the important tourist area frequented by many visitors.

Nothing untoward of any kind was found and no arrests were reported.

Deputy Chonburi police chief Pol Col Pongphan Wongmaneethet - standing in for the Pattaya police chief - said that if tourists or the public do see anything they can call 191.

Or they can contact the tourist police stationed at the end of the street if they spot anything illegal.

Thaivisa notes that previous exercises of this nature last year also failed to turn up any evidence. It might be concluded that such events are PR exercises, we note.

How many callcenter agents they have? 500?

Otherwise it might be a long wait on the line.

Holy Moley  !!  there must be 200 cops their  !
Thailand doesn't have any prostitution ....  well I'm glad to hear that.
That means it's a clean place for families ... right ... !
They were only checking Walking Street! Very few WS bars or gogos have rooms on site available for sex, and those that do are likely to have been forewarned. All was in order.

Hello - there are a large number of imposters clogging up the street where nothing happens in Pattaya...

No prostitutes, just tax collectors here!

I understand that when the girls were asking tourists if they wanted "boom-boom" the police interpreted it as them offering to teach tourists how to play the drums. Seems totally legit. No prostitution found. Just music lessons. How much for a "flute" lesson?

Prostitution is not defined as "having a room on site available for sex".

Just when you thought this country could not get more bizarre

A strange photo op for some reason

Prostitution is ingrained in Thai culture and these buffoons could not find it, I am concerned that they really were not looking hard enough especially when you trip over it in small country town let alone the sex capital of the world

You have to wonder if they really want the international press to see a photo of 200 law enforcers surrounded by go go bars proclaiming "no prostitution here". Can you imagine the Dutch police doing the same in Amsterdams red light district. ????

Most girls who work in Go-Go bars are freelance in other words not run by pimps. Ergo the are not prostitutes.

Since the inspectors in Pattaya did not find any pimps they did not find any prostitutes.

What is the matter with you guys? No lo entiendes
