The white Merc is my favourite and lives near me I guess because I still see from time to time.

The Porsche lives at the Customs in Bang Na dock.

That's one of the ugliest convertible tops I've seen, and no rear window?

Discovered these 3 old beauties at the Chiangkhan River Mountain Resort overlooking the Mekong river in Loei.

I don't think any of them have seen road traffic in quite some time.

My wife's friend owns that resort and a smaller hotel in Amphur Muang Loei. She did well for a small town girl. ????

She did very well... it's a beautiful resort with well laid out facilities and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

The water pressure in the shower was the best I have experienced anywhere in Thailand.

And the breakfast was huge! A good way to start the day.

A big thumbsup from me for the Chiangkhan River Mountain Resort in Loei.

I spotted this yard on a motor bike ride from Pattaya to Chonburi buffalo races. Spent about 40mins with a very proud Thai guy who didn't speak a lick of English but we communicated on some level.

I love these (for no good reason) things

Me too....Must be about 15 years back I went to a high end car auction in London where one of those could not sell, think it got to 25,000 quid, but the first E-type jag that didn't have a body (yes no body) sold for 55,000 quid..

My chum bought a V8 Ferrari for 25,000 whilst there...

The one in the pictures gets driven on a weekly basis around Bangkok.

Pretty sad when you think about it. A top end sports car reduced to poodling around Bangkok . Crying out for the autobahn but just crawling up Sukhumvit in 1st gear.

Understandable though. The road from Rangsit to Saraburi is really rough and would probably damage the skirts. Not worth the risk. Route 7 to Pattaya probably ok though.

A Farang friend in Bangkok buys classic European cars then has them renovated as a hobby.  There is a huge classic car scene here with BMW groups, Alfa groups etc.  You get to meet some really cool Thai guys through this type of social club.

I wonder how much that would cost?

the owners takes it for coffee around the city on weekends and night driving along the highways ... sure beats being kept in the garage and rotting away. Don't think any sane person would have that as a daily car for getting to work.

Roads in bangkok isn't too bad for the most parts, just got to choose which roads to take. Those frequent by 10 wheels are brutal for these sports cars.
