Thai Rath caught up with the driver of a foundation rescue service who has decked out his ambulance in every way he can think of with the Japanese cartoon character Doraemon.

There are Doraemon fluffy toys of all shapes and sizes, seats, stickers - even a Doraemon clock.

Niran Leesuwan of Kamphaeng Phet's Sawang Thammasathan Rescue service said that riding in an ambulance was a scary experience with all the medical staff and equipment.

His aim was to make it less stressful and everyone appreciated how he had kitted out his ambulance.

He bought most of the things himself but some were donated.

Kids even got a free Doraemon toy that helped them forget they were injured or ill, he said.
