spidermike007
Anytime a nation engages in this kind of significant infrastructure improvement, in the long run it has to be a good thing, regardless of the cost. It is very hard to get around quickly in this country. The roads are really congested, by a massive and totally unnecessary (if they had improved the rails decades ago, much cargo could be moved by rail) amount of truck traffic. The current railway is slow and antiquated beyond the reaches of one's imagination. Many areas are not accessible by air. So, this nationwide fast rail system makes alot of sense. I sure hope it happens soon.

Ulic
The baht busses work well, just get rid of the big tour buses parking on the side of the roads in town. Build an overnight parking area on the Dark Side. Baht buses can shuttle Chinese tourists from there.

More likely Japanese, Korean, maybe HK and Taiwan or Singaporean Chinese.

The Preacher
Look at all this high dollar development around Bangkok. There was talk about high speed trains for the North and the East, but it seems to have been forgotten -- only crumbs for the North and the East. Wasn't it exactly this sort of thing that caused the political revolution that brought Thaksin to power? "They" are doing it again. "They" never learn. BestB
All for it BUT either one means more traffic jams. If it’s a tram, roads are already narrow, laying tracks will create massive gridlocks. same applies to elevated system , not to mention flooding. hope I see either one operational in my life time
