Do I need to get a 30 day extension or can I pay a 1 day overstay fee at the airport. Also will this affect me when I return to Thailand in the future. ubonjoe Posted June 14, 2019 Share Posted June 14, 2019 If leaving the country from either airport in Bangkok you will not be fined for a overstay of less than 24 hours. They just put a note in your passport that you overstay less than 24 hours. At other airports or at a border crossing you will be fined 500 baht.
