Japanese Maples in CM

I'm interested in anyone that has seen (or grown) Japanese Maples - Acer palmatum dissectum - in the Chiang Mai area.

I've seen 1 picture of a Jap. Maple in Phu Kradueng National Park, but no where else.

Knowing how hard it is to import seedlings would be great to know too.

If anyone knows what "growing zone" is in and around CM that would be beneficial too.

Not too hot to grow Japanese Maples in Chiang Mai.  They can't handle direct afternoon sun for sure, but will do well with morning sun or under a larger tree.

I found 1 place in the nursery area behind Lotus / Tesco on super hiway that has 2 kinds of maples at the moment - Iroha Momiji and the other I'm not sure yet.  These are not 'acer palmatum disectum' trees, but larger japanese maples and they are imported from Japan.

I'm still looking into how to "import" these trees from Japan since I want smaller - 1-2 gallon potted trees - and some of the variegated varieties.
