Makes you feel very safe in the land of smiles... taxi service or something else very ugly...

this is the true face of Thailand now, melting point for many reasons.

5 Years under the Junta & social unrest has been rising slowly.. while they were busy securing their own futures, now the Junta have swapped uniforms for suits to reign again..

As PM what will the illustrious leader Prayut do now, the nation is waiting for something to happen in their favour!

Paradise!

I was recently set upon by a motor bike taxi driver on beach road Pattaya in front of the Police station Soi 9 next to the Hilton hotel in-front of the Thai Police, that hang around in front of the station Soi 9 seeking easy pickings normally foreginers!  Tea money practice by the police.

Taxi drivers are lawless hooligans. Mafia.

This is ugly. Very ugly. Shocking that people like this are entrusted to work within the public.

The motorcycle taxi riders at my nearest MRT station seem like a friendly enough bunch. But one day, a clearly mentally ill homeless man did something to annoy them. They attacked him in a group and the mentally ill man managed to run away. One of the food vendors nearby gave one of the win riders his meat cleaver and the rider than gave chase. I remember watching it all unfold thinking 'these people have no self-control'. That mentally ill man could have been murdered that day. And for what?

what makes you think they are entrusted?

there is still a road in NOrth Bangkok where no regular bus services are allowed to run, only songtaew, the bus service has been warned off from ever running on the Nonthaburi road 1 from new bts to nonthaburi pier, despite the pier being a major bus stop, the buses are only allowed to use the route via grungthep non

these are mafia people, the stupid see corruption all through the system high up and decide why not us too

Grab/Uber or the skytrain...nothing else - no giving any money to these scum criminal cheats of the official taxis and bikes.

And waiting of course for the next story in a few days,  on what a great virtuous, honest taxi bike driver did ....????

We read of these gang attacks all the time. Why are so many Thais such savages? Why are so many people in the fantasy land of smiles so ready to attack others and to such an extent that they often kill their target? And always over nothing. Always. They have absolutely no discipline or self-control and are barely human. There is no difference between them and wild dogs. What kind of society produces such scum?

Is this the latest TAT tourism promotion video? Over one million views. Wait for it, news flash coming up as Taxi driver returns customers wallet.

The thing that gets me with Thais, it takes so little to get em fired up. Land of smiles indeed.

The police are too busy raiding nightclubs, busting people for electric cigarettes, hunting for naked people or investigating porn videos. Real criminals are of no interest, they might get hurt!

Nothing to do with the junta. They were burning Bangkok down long before the present mob entrenched themselves. Land of Smiles indeed. There has long been massive anger lurking underneath.
