stubuzz
My Hatari fans have been serviced and had new capacitors but are sill not back to full speed. I am thinking of buying new 16-18 inch floor standing models. I see that some Sharp models have ball bearings in the motors and i know that the Mitsubishi fans are good. Do you think that the Mitsubishi fans are worth the extra?
Mitkof Island
In my opinion they are crap compared to Victor fans but they can be difficult to find. Not sold at the major stores. Same price if not cheaper and superior in many ways.

wimpy
I do think they are worth it. Had many problems with Hatari fans. Had one burst into flames. If I hadn't been there, my wood house would likely be gone. Never seen a Victor, so can't comment on those.
David B in Thailand
I believe the 16" Mitsubishi floor standing fans or wall mounted fans are the most dependable, most quiet fans you can buy for a reasonable price in Thailand. The 18" or 12" are not the same. I've been disappointed in Sharp, Toshiba, Hatari fans.
scubascuba3
My 18 inch Hatari fan is good, it does make a noise sometimes but after cleaning its back to being quiet. That's 1 year, so far so good
andymon
recently had the plastic fan blades disintegrate, after someone brushed up against the wire cage, of a 4 month old 16" Sharp floor standing fan. Many stores carry Hatari replacement fan blades but can't find anyone stocking replacement blades for a Sharp fan.
