EU fails to agree on top jobs, more talks on June 30

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - European Union leaders will meet again on June 30 to seek agreement on who should inherit the bloc's top jobs - including the head of its central bank - after failing to get a deal at the second attempt in talks dragging into the small hours on Friday.

HONG KONG (Reuters) - Several hundred people rallied in Hong Kong on Friday after the expiry of a deadline protesters set for the government to completely scrap a controversial extradition bill, in the latest wave of protests in the Chinese-ruled city.

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain, the birth place of coal power, is set this year to use more electricity from zero-carbon sources such as wind, solar and nuclear than from fossil fuel plants for the first time, the country's National Grid said on Friday.

QUITO (Reuters) - An Ecuadorean judge on Thursday ordered that a Swedish citizen and personal friend of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange be freed, two months after he was detained for alleged participation in a hacking attempt on the government.

Thailand Post issues ASEAN stamp collection

Four Chinese tourists have sustained minor injuries after a tour bus accident in Kok Kloi, Phang Nga, just north of Phuket, yesterday afternoon. Newshawk Phuket reported that emergency responders headed to the scene of the accident at 4pm .

Rotarians donate life-saving equipment to hospitals, schools and rescue units

Business sentiment hits 15-month low

BANGKOK, 21 June 2019 (NNT) - Uncertainties regarding the forming of a new government and trade war concerns, have resulted in confidence among business operators in May 2019 continuing to decline, reaching a 15-month low, as shown in the latest TCC Confidence Index. The figure is however, expected to improve in June once the new government proceeds with proposed megaprojects, injecting the economy with cash flow expected to help the Thai economy grow by 3.5 percent this year.

Two men already blacklisted from entering Thailand for 100 years, caught again in Phuket

PHUKET:-- Two men who had both previously been deported and blacklisted from entering Thailand for 100 years have been caught again after they were found to have re-entered the country using new passports issued in new names.
