Chinese School Closed Down After Forcing Children to Sit Under Scorching Sun as Punishment

Recommended Posts

A kindergarten teacher in southeastern China was fired after forcing two students to go out under the scorching sun as punishment for “disturbing” others during nap time.

The incident, which sparked outrage on social media, occurred on the noon of June 19 at the Da Feng Che kindergarten in Zhangzhou, Fujian province, according to The Paper.

Noontime naps are practiced in Chinese preschools to ensure that children conserve energy for afternoon classes.

However, the pair of male and female students played instead, allegedly disturbing their classmates.

As a result, the teacher, who has not been identified, forced them out into the playground under the burning noontime sun.

In a now-viral video, the male student is seen lying on the ground, while the female student is seen standing beside him.

The temperature in the area reportedly reached 33 degrees Celsius (91 degrees Fahrenheit) that day, according to the South China Morning Post.

Following the backlash, the city government announced that the teacher was fired from her job, while the school was reportedly ordered to close.

The incident is only one of the countless reports involving teachers mistreating students in China. Weibo users slammed the teacher: “This is too vicious.”
