Actually hotels in Singapore are a lot cheaper than what they used to be, at least when booking from Agoda. Only a couple of thousand baht per night in 5 star hotels in Clarke/Robertson Quay is cheap. Air Asia lands at T4 though which has a free shuttle from T2 and is newly open. I think it's the same terminal that used to be LCC terminal. It's VERY nice, and unlike other terminals, has security check at the immigration and not at the gate. So there's no hassle at the gate about any liquids etc. As for cost of flight - I don't know about CR but from BKK, Scoot and JetStar were selling 1200/one way incl. taxes. From Suvarnabhumi.

True. Air Asia cancelled CEI-SIN flights with end of July. No more direct flights from 1 August onwards. Only through DMK.
