rooster59
PM to attend G20 Summit 2019 in Japan Praphorn Praphornkul BANGKOK, 26 June 2019(NNT) - This week, the Prime Minister, Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha, will attend the G20 Osaka Summit 2019 in Japan to share the results of the 34th Asean Summit and discuss the region’s role with the G20 leaders. Gen. Prayut said he thanks all agencies and members of the public for being good hosts during the 34th ASEAN Summit, which successfully concluded last week in Bangkok. Many ASEAN leaders have praised Thailand for hosting this year’s ASEAN Summit in an orderly fashion. They agreed on many issues and have not intervened in the internal affairs of other member states. The summit went smoothly and focused on the region’s sustainability and foreign trade. The Foreign Affairs Minister, Don Pramudwinai, says the vision of ASEAN presented at the summit by Gen. Prayut was a new topic. The vision focuses on cooperation for sustainability in maintaining the pillars of the ASEAN Community. The outcomes of the summit, including the role of ASEAN in the international arena will be presented to delegates at the G20 Osaka Summit 2019. The Deputy Government Spokesman, Lt. Gen. Werachon Sukondhapatipak, said today that the Prime Minister is determined to underline Thailand’s role as the ASEAN Chair in 2019. The results of the 34th ASEAN Summit will be shared at the G20 Osaka Summit 2019 and will again be brought up at the 35th ASEAN Summit, which will take place in Thailand in November this year. Gen. Prayut will also underline Thailand’s role in linking cooperation between ASEAN and G20 country members to cope with global challenges and build confidence in the Thai government’s economic policy following the March 24 general election. Membership of the G20 consists of 19 individual countries plus the European Union (EU). It comprises eight of the world’s largest advanced economies, including the United Kingdom (UK), Canada, France, Italy, Japan, Germany, the United States of America (USA) and Australia. The group also comprises 11 of the world’s emerging economies, namely Argentina, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea, and Turkey. The G20 represents 90% of global gross domestic product (GDP) and 60% of the world’s population. -- © Copyright nnt 2019-06-27 Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking Thailand news and visa info
lujanit
On the face of it foreign leaders will be bound by diplomatic protocol when talking publicly with Prayuth. I wonder what they are saying about the 'PM' and his 'government' behind his back. Not too many nice things methinks.
Matzzon
In the wake of that everybody is aware of that he can´t speak either english or japanese, this is going to work out perfectly well. Nobody is going to understand him, at the same time as nobody is going to risk loss of vital information.

There is a news clip of him taking exception to Samantha Hawley from ABC Australia asking some very pertinent questions after the coup that he did not want to answer. He demonstrated his language abilities in that incident. Interestingly Sam Hawley has not reported from BKK since that incident. ????
holy cow cm
As much as he is trying to dig himself in as being the newly garnished unscrupulously chosen PM, he certainly can be dug back out by the opposition as they start their push back against corruption. Talking of vision, hopefully the population will visit Specsavers in order for them to see clearly what the old/new PM (delete as applicable) is up to with regard to screwing up the country. He had a chance to lay out the vision for Thailand when the parliament convened on 4th June. He chickened out and didn't attend. His answers were gems. "Isn't that enough" referring to his last 5 years of non elected government and "no need". Simply put, this imbecile has no vision nor has the mental capacity to come up with one. His whole adult life is about giving orders, not vision.
