rooster59
Chinese tourist "opened the emergency door" on Thai Lion Air as it prepared for takeoff Image: Manager Manager said that Chinese media was reporting that a Chinese tourist had been escorted off a Thai Lion Air flight after he opened the emergency door of an aircraft as it was preparing to take off at Don Muang Airport earlier this week. Stories on the China Morning Post site and other media said police entered the plane and took the man away along with his luggage. They said that fellow passengers were shocked when he pulled the lever of the door down. The man claimed that he didn't know he was doing anything wrong. Manager said it was identified on Flightview.com as flight number SL 940 to Wuhan in central China. It eventually took off nearly two hours late at 8.47 pm from a scheduled departure time of 6.55 pm. There were no other details and no comment on the incident from Lion Air. Manager said that there have been instances of Chinese passengers opening or trying to open doors in the past and one woman famously three coins into a jet engine for good luck. Hallib
I traveled from Moscow to Beijing with mostly Chinese passengers, as soon as the wheels touched down in Beijing 90% of them stood up to get there carry on, and the flight attendance were yelling at them to sit down until at the gate, a week later, the next flight from Beijing to Bangkok, same thing as soon as the plane touched the runway. I think the Chinese government needs to educate there citizens how to travel, be polite and not yell across restaurants to each other, wait in the line but not to make a NEW line at a 45 degrees angle into the middle of the normal line. Not to trow coins in the engine when boarding and on and on. Thai's are polite and do not yell between each other. I was teaching 3 times in China and I found the Chinese to be fun and polite, but when it comes to traveling, it is the heard mentality that takes over. I like what a Thai said about them, they are rude, but let them come here and perhaps they will learn to be polite from us.

I had the same experience. Eight years ago when I first came to Thailand I flew in a Chinese Airline from JFK-New York to Bejing to then transfer on to BKK. Jesus!!! The second the wheels touched the ground the whole fricking plane jumped out of their seats and started popping open the overheads and pulling down their luggage. That was eight years ago. Probably take another 20 years before they (Chinese) realize you have to stay seated till the plane reaches the gate.

yokat
I was flying from Singapore last week, a small group of 20 Chinese women and kids started camping 30 minutes in front of the gate to try to jump the queue. Of course they were not in the first boarding zone so they were bounced by the staff. I didn't experience people standing up as the plane touches down, it may have to do with first time travellers and being in a large group. BUT, on the same flight also was a backpacking German and French duo that drank beer and wine during the flight, walking around half drunk and speaking loudly late at night. I only saw this behaviour from western travellers.
