Rimmer
Party raises 10,000 baht for disabled sailors Over 200 members of Thai and foreign business communities and friends joined the event. PATTAYA:--Thai and foreign businesspeople raised about 10,000 baht for the Disabled Sailing Thailand project at a fundraiser in Bang Saray. Project founder Peter Jacobs hosted the June 30 party for 250 sailors and supporters at the Bang Saray Beach Club that included afternoon activities for children and adults, games and live music from Pattaya Rose and Barry Upton. Later, over a buffet supplied by the beach club, an auction and lucky draw were held with prizes donated by supporters, including a 14-foot kayak. Proceeds from the raffle tickets and auction will go to the disabled-sailing project, which teaches the physically impaired to pilot sailboats on their own using watercraft outfitted with accessible equipment. Bunch of farang tight wads, thais would have raised a lot more. Yes something shameful like this needs a good farang bashing.. if it was the other way around im sure we would be at 20+ pages. Pib
Maybe the "administrative expenses" associated with the event took a BIG bite out of the donations leaving only Bt10K for the charitable cause. Or, maybe the farangs couldn't spare more as they are saving up Bt800K for their extension of stay renewal.

pookondee
Well who can really blame them? Considering TiT, i wouldnt be donating any more than 40baht either, assuming maybe 10% might actually get to where its supposed to go.
