PHUKET: Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha has stressed the importance of making the bidding for the planned light-rail project in Phuket as universal as possible, the Mass Rapid Transit Authority said today (July 10).

Gen Prayut made the remark about the 41.7 kilometre light-rail route from Phuket International Airport to Chalong intersection during his visit to Phuket on Monday (July 8 ) for the official grand opening ceremony of the Chalong Underpass.

He opened his speech at the ceremony with “Sawasdee, Bangkok”, before apologising for the confusion and blaming it on Bangkok and Phuket having the same problem: traffic congestion.

This coming from him sounds pretty hollow.   He probably wonders why world leaders have not congratulated him on his stunning victory and why his government is still called the junta.

Oddly no White House invitation.

Trump loved having the (physically) little man pictured next to him in October 2017.

That was not his policy as the unelected PM who used Article 44 on infrastructure projects that in part bypassed government laws, rules and regulations on procurement.

Why only "stress?" Why not comply with federal procurement laws. Albeit, I don't know if "open bidding" is mandatory or discretionary under the law. If not mandatory, Prayut should be submitting legislation before a "real" legislative assembly to require open bidding if he's really serious about its usefulness.

"Stressing" is just political lip service.

Made me chuckle...
