I do not need to know this bloke to know how bad ANY prisons are let alone Thai prison and for 50 years not just few weeks or months.

How does a life sentence with no possibility of parol gets released at a later date? because the Thais do it all the time. Royal Pardons for lifers is a common occurrence here. Don't you read the Thai news reports? Indeed... I don't know how "common" it is, but it certainly happens, both with cases that start out as life sentences and even those that start out with death sentences. One example of that was the former police commissioner Chalor Kerdthes who was at the centre of the infamous Saudi Blue Diamond case. He was originally given the death penalty in connection with some murders related to the case. He got a royal pardon later and later after that was finally released from prison. From reading back some on such cases, it often seems to happen in stages. Death penalties get commuted by pardon to life. Then those life sentences get later commuted to shorter terms. And rinse and repeat till the person is finally set free. The BKK Post had an interesting article back in Dec. 2011 on a group of various convicted murderers who had received royal pardons that year, including Chalor, that variously reduced their sentences. Some of those guys convicted were in particularly grisly cases of dismemberment.... but that was no impediment...
Galactus
i am against death sentence. especially in a Buddhist country. life is sacred in Buddhism. They dont even sterilize a dog here easily but they are fine to execute a human being! i never understand! plus, death is easy. letting him rot in a thai prison eating rotten rice everyday with shackles all his life around his legs is a lot worse that an instant death by execution anyway! dont kill him and let him rot in the jail for his entire lifetime instead!
