Chromebook: issues with the space key

Recommended Posts

The space key i. fails and ii. often acts as if some ghost was pressing it. Then the cursor will move to the right (without me touching the Thinkpad E-131E.

The issue came and went, making me wonder if it's software?

Would an external USB keyboard work?

I don't know if this will help, but I have a Chromebook and about 2 months ago I had a problem firstly with the screen displaying pink and green colours and then the keyboard behaving erratically. Sometimes the keys didn't work at all and sometimes I couldn't open tabs etc. I took it to a technician in Pattaya and he replaced the screen and told me that there was a fault with the Alt key, and if I had problems again I should press the Alt key. I did this for a while and it worked but eventually got worse. I got fed up of having to do that and although a Chromebook is supposed to be virus free I installed Malwarebytes and did a full scan. It worked! I no longer seem to get those problems at all. Malwarebytes is still installed and the Chromebook is back to normal. Maybe you could install and run it. It might help.
