Grandmother travelling with grandchildren

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just quick question.

My mother will be travelling with my daughters to Phuket from Bangkok (for 5 days) while my wife and I will remain in Bangkok (nice break for us). Do you thing there might be an issue raised at the airport in regards to the children travelling without their parents even though it's a domestic flight? My children are 12 and 4. Both have Thai and British Passports and share the same surname as my mother who is British.

Any info will be really appreciated.

Many thanks JS

I have travelled on domestic flights many times with my Thai son (age 7), I booked his flights obviously with his english name, he doesn't have a UK passport or Thai passport, I just took his original Thai birth certificate (I also have a legalised English translation, which I always carry with me, although have never needed it), and have never had an issue.  I think if the surnames are the same, you should not have an issue, also the kids are old enough to answer any questions.  My son's english isn't that good, but I'd be ok if they asked him questions in Thai.
