In detention room in Suvarnabhumi. Don't know what's happening

Hi there. I am writing from the detention room in Suvarnabhumi airport. I am a digital nomad. I travel and work online. In the meantime, I fly around south east Asia. Yesterday I flew from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok but Thailand refused me entry because they said I have had too many visas already. They gave me expulsion agreement to sign and put in the detention room. Yesterday the representative of the airline with which I flew here met me and told me that they will be transporting me back to Kuala Lumpur today. Later I spoke with them on the phone and they said the ticket was confirmed. But 'yesterday' arrived and today the reception of the detention room are telling me that the flight is tomorrow but they are not telling me what time. I am really freaking out now because yesterday they said the flight is gonna be today, and today they are saying it's gonna be tomorrow. I am dreading that they will tell me 'tomorrow' tomorrow too....And the conditions are terrible here. The guards don't care - they are keeping you in the blind... Has anyone ever been to detention in Suvarnabhumi airport? Is it possible that they do something to me here? Please if anyone has ever been to the detention room in Suvarnabhumi and got out, reach out please.

They won't do anything to you, no panic.

Which kind of visa did you have or did you plan to enter visa exempt?

You should not have signed the paper.

You could appeal to being denied (should also be stated on the bottom of the paper which you signed), using this form and by paying a fee of 1900 THB: https://www.immigration.go.th/download/1486548054958.pdf

If all you want is to get out of there is quick as possible it might be better to just take the flight

Thanks for replying, Jack. I did not sign the paper. All I want is to fly back to Kuala Lumpur. The representative of the airline said the flight is today but today they are telling me it is tomorrow. The wardens refuse to answer any questions. They are not telling me what time the flight is tomorrow. Just because they lied yesterday, I find it hard to believe them.... And I have no way to check which flight I am on because I was not the one who booked it (the airline did) and I don't know the reservation number.

I was going to get visa on arrival. I submitted my documents but they complained about the passport. I stay in Thailand a lot because I like the apartments. and then when the visa is out I fly somewhere else.

make sure you use this time to contact friends and family so they know where you are.

Try not to worry, it is very unlikely you will be gang raped and sodomized.  Thailand is not interested in keeping you there any longer than they want to.  You will be out very soon as commented by other posts.

Then it should be fine.

People who sign the paper agree to pay for their stay in the detention cell.

You didn't sign it, so the airline has to pay for your stay there, which they of course don't like, so they try to get you out asap.

Maybe the last flight on which you should have been was just full already.

We have had many posted accounts from people in detention at the airport.

 

Not a single report of physical abuse. But like you everyone gives the pl;ace low marks in terms of comfort, cleanliness etc.

 

What will happen is that you will be escorted to an outbound flight. You will also be asked to pay for your "accomodation".

this is not uncommon. many people are detained by Thai immigration.

if you have money, you are ok. it may seems like forever, but they just want you out.

please make sure your family knows where you are.

Some people think this is only happening in Thailand. Same conditions in the USA. I was once detained and sent back for the simple fact my passport was not “machine readable” I was locked up, was not allowed to use computer and was not allowed to walk in the detention room. A guard even accompanied me to the toilets. I also nearly missed my flight back because nobody was following my case. The airport was nearly completely run by Mexican immigration guys completely frustrated weirdos..

Do not expect the guards to have any information so don't be rude to them. Airlines have to go through their own processes and a seat has to be found.

Yes, 800 Baht a day. But they may have stopped doing this now.

 

What nationality are you? Visa on arrival means you are likely to be Indian or Chinese.

I forget how much but not a huge amount..though certainly more than the quality of the "accomodation" and food would warrant.

20+ flights a day to KUL, can't see any reason the OP was held more than an hour or two.

Thanks for replying. This is <deleted> up to be treated like that. I even checked online before I booked my ticket and it said I am allowed two visas on arrival per year. I haven't had any this year in 2019. Technically, I haven't broken the law

He probably actually means visa exempt entry. People often confuse the terminology.

I am Russian and my passport is Kazakhstan

No, visa on arrival. I don't get visa exempt entry with my passport.

What exactly is a "digital nomad".  I always thought it was somebody who worked on line, often from country to country and never paying any taxes based on their income, hence becoming an aggravation to many countries if visited regularly and hence often fall foul of local regulation in theory.  Am I right or is that just a misconception on my part ?

He has to go back on same airline that brought him, that is the only airline obliged to take him and we can be sure there is nothing like 20 flights a day to KUL on that airline. Might only be one or two. And if it is a budget airline it may be heavily booked.

You only pay for the room if you sign the paper and agree to pay for it.

Without signing the paper the airline has to pay for it according to the law

Yes, visa on arrival. 

 

High risk, in the current environment. 

 

Suwannaphum Immigration tend to deny entry to repeat visitors.
