Thai doctor reveals how he saved man's hand ripped apart in liquidizer

A Thai doctor went on Facebook to relate how he had saved a man's left hand after he caught it in a liquidizer.

Pictures and X-rays after the accident showed a hand chopped to pieces with fingers and bits of the palm mangled and detached.

But Dr Wichit Siritattamrong worked for ten hours to make it look almost as good as new.

The patient initially complained about only having half his index finger.

The doctor explained that cutting it was essential in order to be able to save the complete hand due to blood flow difficulties.

After hearing this explanation the patient was satisfied and praised the doctor for his amazing "handiwork".

The operation was performed at the Chularat 3 Inter hospital in Bang Plee south east of Bangkok.

Obviously one of the local blenders, no safety switch whatsoever. The one we have, no name brand will operate without a lid without a cover and even without the entire jug or mill. However, even without all of these added little safety features, it would require someone mentally impaired to put their hand into a liquidiser.

Pretty damn good job. Great thing is that, unlike some other countries, many of Thailand’s doctors spent some years in the U.S., Canada, or Europe to attend and graduate from the best medical schools, and then returned to Thailand to practice medicine.

I had need of a G.P. and a Podiatrist specialist at McCormick hospital in Chiang Mai back in 2013.

They had both been taught in the west and I was more than pleased with their English fluency and level of care and medical expertise at very very reasonable inexpensive cost for treatment.

That’s why they say that if you’re in Cambodia or Indonesia or Malaysia or Laos and you get very sick or badly injured...get your ass to Thailand or Singapore where the doctors are trained to a much higher level and the hospitals have more modern equipment also.

Superb job done, but like others I wonder what the guy was thinking "will it blend?" ????

Reminded me of this:-

Bill worked in a pickle factory. He had been employed there for a number of years when he came home one day to confess to his wife that he had a terrible compulsion. He had an urge to stick his penis into the pickle slicer.

His wife suggested that he should see a sex therapist to talk about it, but Bill indicated that he'd be too embarrassed. He vowed to overcome the compulsion on his own.

One day a few weeks later, Bill came home absolutely ashen. His wife could see at once that something was seriously wrong. "What's wrong, Bill?" she asked. "Do you remember that I told you how I had this tremendous urge to put my penis into the pickle slicer?" "Oh, Bill, you didn't." "Yes, I did." "My God, Bill, what happened?" "I got fired." "No, Bill. I mean, what happened with the pickle slicer?" "Oh...she got fired too."
