Police in Samut Prakarn have announced the arrest of four Chinese tourists who broke into an industrial tools company and cracked open a safe.

They were named as Huang Hua, Wu Yuan Bion, Wong ye and Wong Lee Chiang. They were arrested at a hotel in Rayong on warrants after police used CCTV to trace them from the crime scene.

Taken into evidence were two motorcycles, three gold bars of five baht weight and other items. Their haul from the job was valued at 900,000 baht.

The Chinese said through an interpreter that they arrived in Thailand at Don Muang airport with 100,000 baht each. They went on tours in Thailand and bought two second hand bikes - but when the money ran out they needed more so decided to turn to theft.

Police dismissed this notion as nonsense, reported Daily News, saying that the force is investigating if others were in the gang.

All have been charged with aggravated theft using a conveyance in the hours of darkness.

I am continually stunned at the stupidity in this day and age of people who commit crimes without bothering to check if there is any CCTV recording what they are doing. I somehow suspect that these "quality tourists" are going to be less than impressed with their new "hotel."

and these are Thailands preferred tourists, the chinese, you get what you ask for

They have a bit more class than to be found off their tits dancing around Jomtien beach threatening people, wandering stark naked and drunk in the road, shagging on the beach, skinny dipping on a public beach pushing and shoving police officers while drunk and brawling in the bars though eh?

Plus these zero dollar tourists spent almost half a mil before they went out robbing.

Why even check for cameras? Assume there are cameras, almost every shop or business owner can afford them these days. Ones that actually work, too.

OMG and that's your excuse for the scam bags... somebody spending more than 1/2 million baht has the right to go out and rob or even commit other crimes

It is a fact supported by data that low level criminals have a deficit in IQ...one of the more significant results of this is an inadequate ability to assess risk. It is very difficult to ‘cure’ this.

It was all a misunderstanding. In the photo it's obvious they were just squatting to take a dump.
