Go Fund Me appeal saves British couple trapped in hospital on Koh Samui

Recommended Posts

Its astonishing how gullible some people are.

The couple claim to be carers yet they can't even take care of themselves.

Let's fund our next adventure by getting suckers to pay on GFM.

What does a carer do anyway?

They look like hipsters.

My guess is they took out travel insurance but do not have a motorcycle license. Their insurance company would have no obligation to pay a red cent.

If the insurance paid half and the suckers on gofundme paid the other half it looks like these freeloaders paid the grand sum of sweet <deleted> for being morons. That’ll teach em!

Up until now i thought it was only Thai drivers who blamed faulty brakes.

If as they claim the bike had dodgy brakes, why did they take it?

you beat me to it.........................exactly

so i am renting a scooter in Thailand and I see it only has one mirror. I say to the lady I need two mirrors. She says OK use this scooter.

So i change scooters and I start to adjust the mirrors so I can see behind me and she says "Why Farang always worry what is behind? Just worry what is in front."

They would have been covered if they had payed extra on their insurance for riding a bike. But that costs extra, same as if you were going to go scub diving or partake in some kick boxing. I'm getting really tired of all these freeloaders who do not bother to check if they are insured for their activities. If I can do it. they can do it!

Nonsense. my UK travel insurance covers up to 125cc as standard.

Don't just make things up in order to justify your attacks on people.

You don't know what they have and if or why the insurance company only covered part of their claim.

Why would they be freeloaders if they actually purchased travel insurance?

Even if they made a mistake, it doesn't make them freeloaders. So many bitter people around.

Hopefully they will get the names of who helped them and remember or somehow repay them back in their lifetime. Good deeds should be rewarded. Let's all be civil again.

Go fund me again I need to be helped I was stupid insurance not pay up.blame the brakes is a good excuse.just like the recent one In Spain .he saw the signs but went down the water slide head first.the end result is a wheel chair at 23 now.the family then begs on just giving or go fund me.insurance not pay not his fault staff at waterpark should have stopped him and warned him.just like the young lady in pai.begging when it goes wrong others will pay for my mistakes.

Goes to show that if you repeat nonsense often enough, you get people who actually believe it.

As has been repeated time and again, head first is the recommended position.

If you are confused about it, watch the video. Aqualandia claim that the girl on the slide next to him is in the correct position. She, of course, is also in the head first position.

If you are still confused;

On first glance it looks to me that he back was already curved, as his head and body were up too high. So when he hit the water he suffered a hyper-extension of the vertebrae.

So please don't make things up in order to attack people for your own ends. It was a small mistake for which he has suffered badly.

"officials said that foreigners cost the Thai state some 300 million baht annually in unpaid medical bills"

Wow!! 300million baht!! That's huge!!

Almost .0002% of the revenue the Thai Government gets from tourists visiting this country (between 1 and 2.5 trillion baht, depending on which source you read).

How do you say "duty of care" in thai?

Earlier this year, officials said that foreigners cost the Thai state some 300 million baht annually in unpaid medical bills.

How many of them were from Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar? They make it look like foreigners from more developed countries couldn't pay their bills.

i always could and will always be able. The right insurance and no problems.

What about ASEAN and their plans? Didn't really work out well, innit?

"The new policy, which will reportedly cost just 20 baht for 30 days cover is expected to be rolled out before the end of the year."

Which means that hospital costs will skyrocket for the paying customers to cover the losses honoring the government's cut rate payment.

I wonder what why the insurance didn’t pay out totally?

crap insurance?

Maybe because they hired a bike and failed to itemise this as part of their insurance policy ... thus not covered?

In most Oz provider insurance policies for LOS trips if don’t tick/declare intention to be riding a bike or driving then you may not be covered if an accident happens.

be interesting to know the intricacies of this case.

Freeloader

:someone who takes advantage of another’s generosity:

Not bitter buddy. Factual.

I take out travel insurance too. I am covered 100% on a motorcycle of any size in Thailand as I am fully licensed in Australia. If I have an accident in Thailand and I’m riding illegally (drunk or no helmet of speeding etc) insurance will not pay.

Need a ladder to dismount that high horse?
