Iran says it seized British tanker, denies U.S. brought down drone

DUBAI/WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Iran said it had seized a British oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz on Friday but denied Washington's assertion that the U.S. Navy had downed an Iranian drone nearby this week, as tensions in the Gulf region grew again.

‘Mor Dear’ arrested, charged in relation to weight-loss pills

A former pharmacist known as “Mor Dear” was arrested on Friday and charged with a variety of offences in connection with the sale of unlicensed weight-loss pills. Some were allegedly laced with the banned and dangerous appetite suppressant sibutramine, resulting in the death earlier this month of a 30-year-old woman.

Buri Ram police chief threatens to prosecute parents as he rounds up 481 street racers

Since losing her sight in 1981, veteran actress Petchara Chaowarat has remained largely out of the public eye. A major star in the ‘60s and ’70s, she started her career in 1962 and became known for her repeated roles opposite late actor Mitr Chaibancha, with the acting duo widely referred to as Mitr-Petchara.
