(Reuters) - U.S. prosecutors have charged a New York man with fighting for the Islamic State militant group in Syria and serving as a weapons trainer, according to court documents unsealed on Friday.

ATHENS (Reuters) - A magnitude 5.1 earthquake rattled the Greek capital Athens on Friday, briefly knocking out power and telecommunications in parts of the city and sending people running from buildings in panic.

72 year old Thai admitted to graphic and information design college

Thai PBS Online reported yesterday (Friday) that Mr. Paiboon Sudlapa, 72, has been accepted as a full-time undergraduate student of graphic and information design at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. He will be spending four years studying to graduate with a bachelor’s degree.

KYOTO, Japan (Reuters) - A man suspected of torching an animation studio and killing 33 people in Japan's worst mass killing in two decades had been convicted of robbery and carried out the attack because he believed his novel had been plagiarized, media said on Friday.
