You're very honest! Well done! I commend you sir and doth my cap thrice. ????

Very nice. You seem a lot like my uncle. He used to think he was funny because he’d make 5 year olds laugh. He was mentally ill.

My wife has a diamond ring/wedding band.....

But - we also had our gold bands made with each other's name in recessed area with raised letters circling each band......My wife's name has 11 letters & it makes for a very appealing matched ring set....

We get complemented on them often - especially by our friends in the US......

No, we're telling you she'd prefer gold.

And as we've all been married to Thai ladies (and you haven't), we're probably more experienced to judge what they like.

I’m not here asking what you think my GF would prefer lol. If I was interested in what she prefers I wouldn’t be asking ppl here, I’d take her ring shopping. This is a gift to her as a reminder of me and our vows.

I'm buying the Ms. a ring and she chose one with a cubic zirconia stone.     I mentioned to her it's like trying to pretend the stone is something it isn't.     She was satisfied the stone isn't a diamond and said she likes how it looks on the band.

I was pleased the saleslady re-enforced my warning to the Ms. that the ring she was trying was too large at a size 49.   She decided to wait until her 48 size arrives with the next order.

I would prefer she always use her (?) baht to buy gold instead of diamonds.     Similar to cash in a bank with possible interest up tic or down tic.

Look on line for Ananta jewelers at Central World BKK. Has an English version and has a scale you can set for what type of diamond quality and then the price is shown. Yes, diamond rings do matter when keeping up with the Joneses or plainly where she is concerned, it makes her feel adequate. Good luck.

No - but the gold color is richer here versus the 14-18k in the states = it catches their eye.....

Our gold looks different to them & 14-18k looks chincy, cheap, low quality to Thais.....

As you please of course, but Thai women prefer gold over any other jewelry. I once gave my wife a Japanese Akoya pearl necklace appraised here at 48,000 Baht and she has never worn it once in 13 years. In fact she hasn't even looked at it since the day she got it. The 1 Baht (20,000 THB) gold necklace I gave her she's worn every day for years. It's part of Asian culture. Gold above all else.

My wife prefers the chicny different looking gold we have. Actually so do I and it is the last style of diamond gold ring I bought her and looks fabulous..

Thailand is not a place one associates with bargains in diamonds. The market is simply too small as its culturally insignificant. Unless you are very very knowledgeable about the industry, never buy a stone without a certificate from either the AGS or the GIA. Even then, it doesn't stop you getting a stone that only looks good on paper. But better than buying blind. I suggest a good starting point is acquiring as much knowledge about the 4Cs as possible online. The whole diamond thing is a scam, so the more you know, the better questions you can ask and the less fleeced you will end up..

If you want to know how much you are getting fleeced by your local specialist, try comparing target stones with similar specs from the big reputable online dealers like bluenile or jamesallen

Good luck !
