webfact Posted July 24, 2019 Share Posted July 24, 2019 5 million meth pills seized in Chiang Rai By The Nation Police and rangers intercepted an attempt to smuggle 5 million methamphetamine pills from Myanmar into Chiang Rai early Wednesday but two suspected couriers fled. A team of police from the Mae Fah Luang police station and rangers form the 31st Ranger Taskforce were patrolling a road in Moo 6 village in Tambon Mae Salong Nok in Mae Fah Luang district when they spotted a pickup truck at 3am. The authorities flagged the pickup to stop but it sped off. The team gave chase and caught up with the vehicle in Moo 7 village of the same tambon. The pickup stopped and two men fled into the nearby forest. The authorities found 30 bags at the back of the pickup with estimated 5 million meth pills inside. Surly they are in a secure location away from anyone with a corrupt mind that may want to use them for financial gain. And, they are counted and packed in labeled and sealed containers of 10,000 under video surveillance? Sorry, of course it's all on the up and up ????
