webfact
Thirteen year old girl shot as angry neighbor went to confront thief Picture: Thai Rath A 61 year old Sukhothai man gave himself up to police yesterday after he said he accidentally shot a neighbor's 13 year old sister in the head. Somsak Meeprem had been furious about a neighbor called Wave who had repeatedly stolen from his house. After the latest theft he armed himself with a .22 rifle and confronted his neighbor and relatives outside his house saying "today's the day". Unfortunately Wave's 13 year old sister came back on her motorcycle and surprised him, said Somsak. The gun went off and she was hit in the head. After treatment at the Ban Dan Lon Hoi Hospital Chatradao Khrutpong was transferred to Phitsanulok. There was no report on her condition - the story had earlier featured on Thai social media. The Ban Dan Lan Hoi, Sukhothai police have charged Somsak with attempted murder and detained him. They promised justice to all parties in the case, reported Thai Rath. mike787
No surprise, stuff like this is normal here....just gets numb after awhile. Roads fatalities, machete wielding men in street fights, village beat downs, ladyboyz robberies, people jumping/pushed off high rises and in malls. In fact, we are over due by an hour for another jumper.

Matzzon
Guns shouldn´t be allowed in a country where cars should be considered as a lethal weapon. My thoughts goes to the unlycky girl, and the shooter has just lost all his rights to justice.
