A video clip widely shared on Thai social media featured a flash as about ten men descended from a plane. Daily News said that the wind changed direction after the jump at 800 feet. The man suffered stomach injuries and was transferred to the Police Hospital. A man identified as Sophon Jaikhumkao on the video said that the victim's condition was improving after treatment. I only ever did one parachute jump, but I always remember the safety lecture. One point mentioned was that any power lines were avoided when the organising the drop zone, so that no one could accidental stray and hit them. The chutes they use are "C10's" with a steering panel, if he was properly trained he should have been able to easily miss the wire!! You can fly at 30kph against the wind in those chutes! A very poorly prepared jump, they probably didn't even look at the weather forecast; the wind at landing was stronger than expected and they have been pushed into the forested area at the back of the dropping zone.
