dabhand
https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-sri-lanka-economy-tourism/sri-lanka-to-offer-free-visas-on-arrival-to-boost-tourism-idUKKCN1UP1MU Seen other reports that this free visa offer has just now been implemented and will be for a six month period. It covers 48 nations, including Thailand, the EU nations and the US. Apparently this means a saving of $20 to $40. https://www.lankabusinessonline.com/srilankan-welcomes-free-visa-on-arrival-facility-to-48-countries/ Whether it can revitalise the decimated tourist industry remains to be seen. But, hopefully, it will help a bit.

Puchaiyank
If they would give free visas and 1,000 USD spending money I would send the misses and go get a message after waving goodbye at the airport...????
Henryford
One of my best holidays ever was to Sri Lanka. Great place to visit. Make sure you see Sigiriya.
phuketrichard
I see no small print> been twice but last visit was back in the early 90's, great country, warm, friendly people, lots to see and do. My ONLY negative is the rice was not as good as Thailand or India. Kandy, Hikkaduw & Galle are must sees!!!
