webfact
Taxi driver killed and two tourists injured on Samui Picture: Sanook More details have emerged after a taxi driver was killed and two tourists were severely injured on Koh Samui in Thailand's south. A Toyota Fortuner taxi hit the sidewalk on the Khao Laem Yai hill then collided with a coconut tree and a power pole, said police. It is not known if the driver fell asleep at the wheel or just lost control of his vehicle, they said. The taxi was probably headed for the port at Nathon. Phongphot Madaeng, 47, died at the scene. The tourists - a man and a woman - were taken to hospital. The accident happened on July 19th, reported Sanook. geoffbezoz
A Thai taxi driver and a Fortuner. What a dangerous combination but very lucky that the tourists survived this time.
