Lieutenant Carl Whitney of California's Garden Grove police department, says a 33-year-old Hispanic man is being questioned after a crime spree which included four deaths, multiple stabbings and robberies

(Reuters) - Four people were killed and two injured in a stabbing and robbery spree across two Southern Californiacommunities near Los Angeles on Wednesday, police said.

The suspect, a 33-year-old man from Orange County, California, was arrested after the two-hour spree in the Garden Grove and Santa Ana communities, about 30 miles southeast of Los Angeles, news media reported.

The suspect's name was not released.

Two men were killed in an apartment in Garden Grove and another at a Subway restaurant. The fourth person killed was a 7-Eleven security guard in Santa Ana, police said on Twitter and in media reports.

Police in Garden Grove and neighboring Santa Ana were working on at least 10 crime scenes late on Wednesday, according to police on Twitter.

Police said the suspect also robbed a bakery, a check-cashing business and an insurance office, where a woman was also stabbed, California media reported.

The suspect was arrested at a 7-Eleven at about 6 p.m., police told news media.

"These are all random acts of violence," Garden Grove Lieutenant Carl Whitney said. "Our suspect was not associated with any of the victims."

Representatives from the Santa Ana and Garden Grove police did not immediately return phone calls seeking comment.

So much for Trump's lambasting of knife crime in the UK.

A pathetic attempt to justify the horrific gun crime rates in the US and his chicken-livered bowing to the NRA at every turn.

Instead of blaming, which results in no solutions ,why doesn’t the congress come back from their 6 week sabbatical and devise a solution to these recent tragic events!

Because they are politicians and solving real life problems for the people that voted for them is just not what they do. Its a perception thing . ????

we must ban all knives......and machetes.

The Mayor of London, the genius Khan, is already trying this. He said on his twitter that he can't think why someone would even ever need a knife!

Working well for him, in his own dopey reality.

Give it up!

Gun crime, knife crime, murders, sex crimes, etc etc. Stop blaming someone because you don't like their politics; or pretending those whose politics you do like have the answers.

Consider the inept justice and law enforcement systems, poor education, lack of positive social behavior examples, lack of real leadership, declining social environment and widening wealth gaps.

None of which Trump created or can do much about single handed.

In fairness the knife crime is much further spread than just London.  It is rife in places like Birmingham and Manchester and everywhere where there is a gang culture.  Even had two stabbings near where we live in Surrey.  Turns out to be a gang coming up from Southampton looking for an ex member.  Certainly the highest concentration is in London but then it has always been that way.

The lack of police on the ground is a major factor and I praise Boris for at least trying to increase their numbers.

All knives with blades over 1” should be outlawed/banned and confiscated.

I think England outlawed and banned carrying knives with blades over a certain length.

Knife killings in England skyrocketed after they banned guns.

Now here we have one guy with a knife killing four and wounding many others.

Where will it end? There is no good reason for carrying a knife or even for owning a blade of more than 1 inch. One inch is all you need to butter your bread and cut your steak,

Actually, he's bowing to the second amendment of the US Constitution.

you are correct.... have to say,  maybe out of context but will try, what did Trump accomplish since he moved to the WH, so far not much, not on a particular order but let's try:

1-went on a rant after China's trade, result 000000 other than increasing cost of things coming from China,

2-made a publicity stunt or campaigning stunt with NK, adding to the show he visited the guy at the DMZ, kept claiming the bomb testings would stop, result, Kim keeps doing as he pleases, made a big deal about Iran nuclear deal, result they increased their uranium enrichment, they keep sending oil to China, guns to Syria, Venezuela, helping Vlad and Kim...

3- big deal about revising Japan trade, visited Japan, big mouth speech, result.... still same as before

4- Canada same as above

5- Mexico same as above & above

6- lost the majority or USA allies/friends, result he's alone fighting whatever fights he has

7 - made a big deal while campaigning about the border wall and that Mexico would pay for it, result, has been fighting with congress to get the funds and had to resolve to take funds from the military budget to cover partial wall construction, he doesn't speak about Mexico paying anymore

8- claims China/USA trade war is effective, China is writing checks for billions to the USA, result China depreciated their currency to compensate for the extra taxation, Trump calls them currency manipulators for the past 2 years what does that mean? nothing, when he claims China is paying for the goods taxation he's lying, the US consumers are paying not China...

9-  illegal immigrants...... 10- arms control ..... 11- white supremacy

could find more and more but this should make the point that Trump has nothing/zilt to brag about not one of his so called deals have produced any positive outcome only created criticism and negativism

Only when Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell loses his seat and perhaps Republicans lose majority of the Senate will there be a chance for passage of any meaningful gun control solutions to be passed by Congress. Even then, the legislation must be POTUS Trump-proof. Trump will not abandon his base nor the NRA. And Mitch is unlikely to abandon his Don.

I think chefs may differ with you on blade length.

Why stop at knives? How about pointed sticks and ball point pens? Ban cricket stumps because they have a sharp end?

Toothbrushes can be sharpened into a shank.

Need I go on?

The only reason this non story was added was to fuel the divide. Good job.

The divide doesn't need fueling. My observation of the divide on this forum is that it's better than 20:1, maybe even 100:1, or more.

Worse that "result 000000". Result is negative to many countries in the world, not just China and USA.

He got 2 conservative judges on SCOTUS.

That's huge, and trumps the negatives.
