How much alcohol do you drink in a month?

Recommended Posts

hey yall,

i'm guessing most of you guys (like me) enjoy a drink here?? for me it's a daily ritual. usually I consume between 4 and 10 glasses a day, sometimes 15-20 on weekends (like last night), so I reckon my average monthly intake has gotta be upwards of 200 drinks or so. How about yall?? Do you drink a lot? Who's T Total and what made you decide to be so?

for me alcohol is a daily release form the burdens of living in such a boring place. I guess im an alcoholic but without the shakes (never had them in my life) but i do need a drink, otherwise I would probably end it all tomorrow.

for those guys who dont drink, what do you do to alleviate the boredom here??

Absolutely none!

Never found a drink I actually enjoyed and hated the aftermath, always gave me a splitting headache and I was no use to man nor beast, hated the way it made me feel.

Total waste of time and money, so left I  it alone from around age 25.

Used to drink one or 2 cans of beer per day for 5 days of the week, had the weekend off to rest the liver.  Then 3 months ago, I realised that it had just become a habit and that I wasn't particularly enjoying it and didn't need it, so I stopped altogether. Haven't had an alcoholic drink since and to be honest, I don't miss it one bit.

I limit myself to one bottle of rum a month.....Whether it goes empty in one night shared with company or ends up not being finished off during the month = that's the limit.....We have some other wines/liquors/beer that's been sitting around for a couple of years.....We never have done the bar/club thing....

I never get hangovers & alcoholism runs through the family history, so this is my way of controlling it.....

Drank a lot as a young man and when older realised how much I had missed by being 'unwell' next day. Love wine but wont pay the prices. Stuck on beer, maybe 3 a week, lets say 15 a month. We have a big garden here, an orchard nearby and another big garden at my sons house. Not flowers and lawn, trees, shrubs, vegetables and wild edibles. Always a job to do but if it rains I read novels from a Kindle. Love doing the odd m'bike ride in the country. Seldom bored.

As I like to socialise with expats, I visit the local waterhole 3 times a week, rarely more than that.

I go every 2nd day and drink 3 small light beers, some may say how boring, well for me, 3 small beers in 2 and a half hours and a few games of pool, some small talk or long talks when not playing pool, having a few laughs, makes it all good and worthwhile, e.g. I don't get bored that way as I cannot be caged in the house all day in the sticks, if I go for a short walk, the sun will cook me real quick, and I am not the fair skin type.

My father was an alcoholic and depending on his mood, I would be lucky to avoid his outbursts or watch him beat up mum or my deceased older brother who drank himself to death.

I suppose the experience of watching my father always drinking turned me off, but I drink when out socialising, although I never had alcohol at home as I never felt the urge or need to drink when at home.

Then later in life I watched my brother drinking himself to death over a few years, he started off on beer, then the more he drank wouldn't get him to the level he wanted so switched to spirits, sad way to go.

When socialising here, I see the guys all drinking anywhere between 4-6 big bottle of beer per night, some have confessed that they drink the equal amount at home during the day, sad, to think these guys worked all their years to retire to be sitting down and drinking all day long shortening their lives when retirement should be the best years, holidaying, buying the things in life you want without having money worries, sadly I don't see much of that, it's just guys depending on the pension which with the strong baht has reduced its monthly amount which has put the squeeze on.

I exercise when I am not lazing in my chair in front of the screen, watch some movies, eat clean food and maintain a good weight because the more we abuse our bodies as we get older, the shorter life is going to be, and I am wanting to go all the way..........because there is no coming back and I love this life ????

I just went on the waggon for two week and love taking the dog for its walk in the morning without a fuzzy head now. However, I HAD to have a couple of beers last night as I have subscribed to True ID sport channel, and you cannot NOT have a beer or two when Man City are playing. Maybe a couple more tonight for Chelsea!

I guess we spend about 5000 baht a month for the two of us .

As somebody else said ............. money down the drain.

When wine was affordable we drank that. 5 liters a week between two. That only cost 3000 a month.

So ....we recently decided to stop pissing too much money up the wall and are limiting ourselves to 3000 baht a month again. Which means we only drink every other day.

Cant imagine sitting on the balcony in the evening holding hands while the sun sinks over the mountain and only drinking water. Just not the same at all.

A little of what you fancy does you good.

There's a girl in the post office I would like to apply that saying to but that's another story.

With respect, Alcohol isn't, and will never be the answer to boredom or depression.

I drink only when feeling good, never when feeling down. And when I do partake in a little tipple then  1-2 large beers is more that enough.

I also don't drink, not one signal drop passes my lips year in year out. Regret I also dislike seeing drunks and even dislike the many TV interludes that show people drinking, why do they promote drinking as such a good thing to do I wonder :bah:

To alleviate the boredom I happen to be a TV Mod that's more than enough to fill the spare time and not get bored

Boredom is a state of mind and has nothing to do with ones location.

And in answer your first question, one large beer a day with dinner. I'm sure you can do the math yourself.

I limit myself to 2 beers a year, just to be sociable at a family event.

Liquor and wine, zero.

Life is good. No sorrows to bury. No boredom in my life. Prefer my liver and other organs to age naturally.

Half bottle of vodka/day. Would happily change it for mary jane, but as alcohol is the only legal drug, what can you do.

It will sadly only get a stronger grip on you and take your life earlier unless you choose to and can beat it, best of luck, "up to you" as the Thai's say

sounds like you could use a drink!

I am not opposed to alcohol but neither do I desire it, on occasions, at a village festival, I will drink a couple of beers, in company I can drink a couple of whiskeys. It isn't necessary but can sometimes be enjoyable.

Please feel free to come stay with us for however long you like,we have a big garden and always lots of work.

There is no alcohol here so you may be in for a shock.

It is like other people have told you already, life is what you make it.

Cant blame anyone but yourself.
