Fewer Chinese tourists affect CENTEL’s hotel arm

Central Plaza Hotel Public Company Limited (CENTEL) has reported a softening of its hotel business in the second quarter of 2019, mainly due to the lower number of Chinese tourists visiting Thailand, while its Food Business revenues increased 5.7 per cent year on year amidst intense business competition and an overall economic slowdown.

Poomjai "DJ Poom" Tangsanga comments on the fishing expedition controversy in a five-minute live-streaming clip on YouTube on Tuesday.

 

A famous YouTube show host, Poomjai "DJ Poom" Tangsanga, has admitted to fishing in the Mu Koh Chumphon National Park territory claiming he was unaware of the related laws after the Phaya Sua task force lodged a police complaint.

July 2019 economy shows no recovery signs: TCC

Thai man nabbed for allegedly trafficking Myanmar workers

Immigration Police arrested a 41-year-old Thai man on Wednesday in his home in Chiang Mai’s San Sai district over his alleged role in the smuggling of 27 Myanmar citizens, who were caught at Chiang Mai train station as they tried to board a train to Bangkok in May.

Woman gets jail term for accusing friend of stealing non-existent lottery winnings

Jaroon Head, 62, tells reporters outside Ratchadapisek Court in Bangkok that she is relieved to have her name cleared of the false accusations filed against her. She was falsely accused by a friend for embezzling a Bt30-million lottery windfall in 2017. The court sentenced the accuser to 12 months in prison on Wednesday.

 

A 54-year-old Thai woman was sentenced to 12 months in prison without suspension for filing a false police complaint in 2017 in Udon Thani’s Ban Dung district against Jaroon Head, 62, accusing her of embezzling Bt30-million in lottery winnings.
