Officers who searched the premises then found a haul of drugs, which included 64 ecstasy pills, almost 10 grams of cocaine and a quantity of ketamine.

Planted?

That is absolutely first class pointing. Surely the Police Academy of Thailand chief pointing instructor. Chapeau Mon Brave.

But on a serious note, it's well documented that even in the wild days, Thailand had a strong anti-drugs stance. I feel for the bloke to an extent because what will happen now is quite likely to be four times more severe than NZ. Just don't do it.

I was cleaning out my wallet recently, throwing old receipts and expired cards and other rubbish you accumulate away and I came across about a gram of resin stuck to the back of a shop card. Just enough for a single skinner. Then I thought about how many international borders I'd crossed carrying that and shuddered.

I found two cialis too, but I kept them. 🙂

Do the bib need search warrants?. This guy is screwed

yeah well, I doubt any evidence seized without a warrant would be rejected in any court proceeding.  I have never witnessed or read any detailed court records of any trial so I have little idea about what goes on in a court.  Kangaroos hopping around comes to mind

It is tough for an expat to make an honest living owning a restaurant or bar in Thailand.

Methinks it's you that is lost, a restraunt is an ideal way to explain to neighbors why folks are always coming and going.

Had he been properly documented, he likely would have been ok, though the whole thing screams of a setup, the cops likely knew what he was up to and used thst as an excuse for the search.

In the area where I live there was a liquor store neat to a Catholic school. I used to go to this place to buy food or water. The owner seem to be always very pushy and aggressive. I did not know why. A few months later he was caught for selling drugs to kids.

This kid used to work at local KFC. Someone asked for "extra biscuits" and when they went to pick up their order, they got two bags of marijuana as "extra biscuits". They called the police and he ended up in jail.

This 75 y o man used to run this porno shop in downtown of this small town. He was there for 35 years. I always  wondered how this guy could afford the lease for that place.  Well, he was caught selling meth.

Why oh why do people continue to be so stupid in a country where stupidity comes with heavy penalties and to make it even more stupid drug dealing in Thailand on such small scale simply does not pay enough to justify the stupidity .

When stupidity is actively promoted and actioned by the government what do you expect ?

Open just barely 3 months: (under the "new owners")

Thats a bit odd.

This place has been open fully from at least January after what looked like a very expensive complete renovation of a wedding dress shop.

So has it had 2 owners in 8 months(maybe a failed partnership) or the Grand opening was a pre arranged party night after the initial soft opening.

Certainly looks a very inviting place every time i go past (in the car)
