peterdarby
Status: Japanese, arrived on visa exemption, extended for 30 days Issue: passport damaged so have to get replacement Question: can the passport holder leave the country without going to Chaengwattana to transfer the stamp to the new passport? They would have both passports in their possession. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Edited August 16, 2019 by peterdarby Additional info. ubonjoe
No need to go to a immigration office. It can be done on departure from the country by presenting both passports.

Hand over both passports at passport control and the officer will transfer the entry stamp from the old to new passport; and then stamp you out in the new passport.
