Immigration commander Pol Lt General Sompong Chingduang

Nine Chinese nationals have been taken into Thai Immigration custody for alleged economic crimes that caused damage estimated at around Bt5 billion to China’s government.

Immigration police chief Pol Lt-General Sompong Chingduang said residential and entry rights in Thailand for five of them have been nullified. Some of them had fled to Thailand and stayed on illegally, after committing crimes in China, while a few others entered Thailand illegally.

All nine suspects had been either on a watch list, or a list of arrest warrants submitted by Chinese authorities to the Thai Immigration service, the officer said, adding that they would all be extradited to China.

Sompong said the undated arrests of the nine suspects were made at the request of Chinese authorities under a new cooperation and extradition deal between the two countries.

Yes, Chinese criminals must be removed, and sent back to China.

Actually, I reckon it would be okay if Thailand was to tell China "look, these criminals are Chinese, they're from your country, they did their crimes in China, how about you send your staff to Thailand, and arrest these people, why should Thailand use it's own police force and resources to arrest criminals who did their crimes in China, so, China, you should come here to Thailand, and remove your own criminals".

A good idea, yes.

So you wish to embolden China cross international boundaries( where they have no jurisdiction) to arrest their citizens, where else would you like to invite foreign powers to cross boundaries for domestic matters?

They have already done that, check out the story on Gui Minhai who was abducted from his Pattaya apartment.  More of a regime critic than hardened criminal though.

Oh I am fairly sure they are well aware of that ????

Including who controls the corruption at each level

They just need to build the hi-speed rail system for quicker transportation

Welcome to thailand 2019.

This sounds like common extradition many countries willingly send criminals back to where they committed crimes.

No it doesn't, there are common standards for that based in conventions and they are only for crimes that trigger certain aspects like violence/murder/fraud. Not citizing the chinese communism hole.

Damn i feel uneasy here right now, this communism crap is spreading like cancer through asia. Grew up during split germany, don't want to see that shit ever again...

I see no reference to criticizing the Chinese government only a mention of them committing economic crimes, what ever that is?

they don't have to invite the Chinese, they are already here, come and go on a regular basis but their activities are mainly towards Chinese political dissidents, check the news it's all there, these financial criminals are not that important for China to come pick them up

Gui Minhai was wanted for killing a girl in a hit and run while driving drunk. He was pictured driving over the Cambodian border alone.

Extraditions are a relatively new thing in Thailand. It is to China too.  I assume those of you who critisise would be tolerant of Maxsym Shynkarenko? Or because he's not Chinese he deserves it?

When he got the two year suspended sentence, arranged by his Dad, the girls parents filed an appeal and he ran away. He's already a convicted killer, so to say he's more of a regime critic is plainly wrong.

Exactly what Hong Kongers are protesting about. China can dream up any "crime" ~ political al or other ~ to request that person or persons are extradited back.

Convicted of drunk driving causing death is very different from being a 'convicted killer'.  The former is an idiot who did not think about the consequences of his actions, the latter an individual who wanted to kill someone.  From the reports available he is NOT a hardened criminal, and he was a regime critic; as were the booksellers abducted from Causeway Bay in Hong Kong.

I have not criticized extradition; it is a perfectly logical and sensible procedure if carried out legally and in accordance with agreed protocols.  Forced abduction, or extraordinary rendition in US terms, is simply kidnapping.

Shynkarenko was a child pornographer who was officially extradited so it is hard to see the parallel between the two cases.

Haha the naivety. The United States owns the world and always will. They own the UK. They own Europe. And they will own Greenland soon enough. They already own space. They even own China.

Have you heard of Peter Thiel’s company called Palantir? Palantir is more powerful than both the CIA and NSA combined. Look into Palantir my man ( they will IPO this year and I highly recommend buying if you are not an accredited investor and haven’t bought private equity already ). Palantir makes Google seem like a joke.

People love to hate on the good old USA but in the end, America controls everything. Most are too blind to see it as they sit hypnotized by Netflix, being further brainwashed by, you guessed it, American propaganda.

It’s funny how people around the world don’t even realize that they are all prisoners of the giant capitalistic wheel of consumerism that America has created. I mean you even have the Chinese counterfeiting what? American products.  lol.

Next time you go into any store, try to find something being sold that isn’t rooted in America. It will be very difficult for you. Even Annheiser Busche owns Changs etc. If you do more than just the superficial research, you will discover this to be true.

Wars are all manufactured by America way in advance. Even this trade war with China is totally manufactured and very easy to profit from if you can spot the trading patterns.

America owns all folks. That’s the bottom line. China being the world superpower is a joke of an idea, largely being promoted by “who?” America and “why?” to drum up weapons sales among many other things. Wake up people. You are all slaves to the United States of America.

Perhaps the police see this as a way to have free travel to another country and that's why they don't complain or make that request?

I have seen many examples of their reasoning to travel abroad and most could have been done in video calls instead or with training here.

Could this be FAKE news. I thought the only Chinese people in Thailand were folk with bags of money to spend (or so TAT has lead me to believe).

My bubble has just been burst.

good if they were caught for their crimes. if there are crimes.

'extradition was made by the request of Chinese and under a new cooperation and extradition deal' ?

what is this deal? is this deal also covers political crimes or Chinese people in opposition or Chinese asking asylum in Thailand?

And such crimes can push you to death sentence in China too. Are Thai authorities considering this when extraditing a Chinese citizen back to China?

I hope.

It means each time when chinese official calls Thailand and asks something, will it be granted?

Hope not.
