chingmai331
I started a thread here on building a house in CM on a plot of land now owned by a Thai minority woman. She cannot get a bank loan and i might help out. Someone mentioned that i should take a userfruct from her to hold until the loan i provide is paid off. That way i have some protection against non payment. However, i know very little about this and do keep a low profile vs. the state legal system. If i do get the userfruct, build the house, let her and family live in it while she pays off the loan to me, what happens if i die? Of course i'll never see the $$ but she will get the title back free and easy. What if i depart Thailand for home (USA), and never to return due to medical and age? Must i have some relationship with this woman besides $$ provider and temporary title holder? Any first hand knowledge of Userfructs will be greatly appreciated. chingmai331
Life in CM great. Ching is the chinese pronunciation of the local word...so those in china say i'm in CHING MAI. Lots of historical chinese in these parts and sounds get corrupted. Did not mean to upset your day. BTW...are you part of the Thai 'fatberg' patrol? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatberg
