Dual Citizenship renouncing Thai Nationality

Maybe, but your are talking to a young man 17 years of age, who may see business opportunities as way less important than some essential values we should all possess. So, it could be that he just doesn't want to be associated with some things Thai..

 

And, to come back to topic, in many countries such decisions can be reversed, not sure about Thailand though.

Agreed. Only an idiot would want to keep a US citizenship. Lots of US people are looking to get rid of theirs and Uncle Sam taking taxing their worldwide income.
