Cheapest place in Pattaya for massage free Frugal Freddy

I was debating with a friend ( Freddy) is going to Pattaya that there still are massage shops in Pattaya for 150 baht , just they mght expect a 100 b tip .

Freddy is very frugal , actually stingy, mean with money , brings his lunch to work etc

Anyway i ask you guys are there still massage shops very cheap in Pattaya and their location.

Now Freddy will either tip 20 baht or nothing, im not sure how the masseurs will cope with that and especially if goes a second time as most are not even grateful if you tip them 100 baht.

I recall earlier this year getting a foot massage at the back of Tuk Com in one of the shops, a ladyboy doing my feet, wasnt that great, i tipped 100 baht only for him to snatch the money outta my hand with a scrunched up face , and a low sqeal , and walk off without saying anything! Not even a Thankyou or kiss my ass

Anyway getting back to the subject , i believe Soi Bukhao may have 150 baht an hour massages ?

I leave 100, but why care about any of this?

A number of customers leave nothing.

Sorry, common with Chinese and Indian according to the girls in shops.

If he is worried, just go to a different shop each day many for 100 farther from the beach.

The reason I mentioned tip is myself i feel “ guilty” if i dont leave a tip,but having said that i have left a tip and it wasnt appreciated.

I dont want to change the topic of this thread which is about finding low cost massage shops, but I remember once in jomtien getting a lacklustre foot massage and she kept saying to me every second minute “ you tip me good ok” , you tip me good ok”

I had to say to her darling, kiss me before you rape me”

Anyway getting back on topic , i guess there are massage shops away from the beach but any locations

Tipping 67% of the cost of a service seems over the top.

My go to (straight) massage shop is Piromrat opposite Pattaya City hospital. A nice clean set up where the girls are well trained and you get a consistent massage each time,

150 Baht and I give 50 Baht tip....................................... if someone says 33% is too high I wouldn't argue with them in principal - but 50 Baht is still a Pound to me so I am happy to round up.

check the temples... upcountry, we have a 100 baht massage at a local temple... the masseuses are very kind, tips appreciated not necessarily expected, and they will probably offer to share their lunch if he is that poor and hungry...

Funny you should say that. Our local temple has an annual festival and there was always a tent for massages given by mostly older ladies. Usually great massage and back before 2010 I think it was 100 baht for an hour. Commercialism has caught up and now they seem to be a group touring these fete events and cost more than Phuket!

Two of them might be, but I expect you mean 50 baht. I wish I could get that outdated conversion out of my head too.

They did an upgrade at the local temple and they now have an a/c room - for 120 baht... unfortunately they took out the old comfy foot massage chairs and put in new uncomfortable ones... I will go to other hsops for 150 or even 200 baht before sitting in those chairs for 100 baht...

Usually Thai massage is cheaper, and the least I have seen for oil is 150 baht. What they expect for a tip is up to them, you have to learn to tip to your own desires, although a zero tip would be mean.

That's my girlfriend's favourite too. I'd drop her off there and pick her up afterwards.

50 baht is suitable.

It's not about the percentage if the price for the service is entirely reasonable.

Keep in mind:

If paying 200 THB, 150 goes to the shop and 50 goes to the masseuse.

Some shops may give 100 to the masseuse.

So if you are paying 100, not more than 50 will be going to the masseuse.

So, in a way, they are relying on tips.

Also, if you are a regular, you might take a tip will encourage better reception next time.

Soi Bua Khao, Pattaya Tai end.

Rows of massage shops with 100 baht massages. Banana Massage is popular. 50 baht tip expected and even suggested by a note on the wall.

Well they ask for 100 baht but I usually try and haggle with them to get a lower price....If every one pays 100 it might start going to their head...

This is totally false.

The girls must be lying to you so in fact you will leave a bigger tip.

For the OP, there are places on Buakhow near Klang for 100.

And many others in and out of Sois closer to Sukhumvit.

At these places I would leave 40 or 50 b.

At least enough so they can buy a bowl of noodles.

Apologies, I meant the Klang(Central Pattaya road) end.

100 baht is a 33.3% tip of a 300 baht oil massage.

I always tip 100 baht for any type of massage and everyone is happy.

same with haircuts. everybody happy.

you use a lady boy as a example? they typically scream obscenities at you for just trying to walk past them.

Tip are salary in many cases. Anything under 50 baht is an insult.

Whatever, they can return it if they wish, but I notice they do not. So if they are happy to accept insults, I do not perceive the problem.
