Blacklisted Indian sneaked back into Thailand with a new name and passport

Naew Na reported that an Indian national has become the latest person on a blacklist trying to extend a visa. 

 

The suspect had changed his name and passport but managed to get into the country despite the fact that his new passport mentioned the number of the old one. 

 

The Indian man was on a one year blacklist when Region 1 officers working under the orders of immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang conducted a background check when the suspect went to extend his visa. 

 

Naew Na did not comment on how the man got back into the country. 

 

The much vaunted "biometrics" system was also not mentioned in this report, notes Thaivisa.
