Thailand posted a deficit of Bt457.33 billion for the first ten months of this fiscal year (October 2018 to July 2019), said Director-General Lavaron Sangsnit of the Fiscal Policy Office on Wednesday.

A Kenyan trying to enter Thailand was arrested at Suvarnabhumi International Airport this week after it was allegedly discovered he’d swallowed 68 capsules of cocaine weighing a combined 1,200 grams.

PHUKET:-- Somsawat Chaisinsod, Director of the Phuket Provincial Irrigation Office, has called for the province to begin implementing water-saving measures as a precaution if the heavy rains that usually come in September and October fail to replenish Phuket’s main reservoirs ahead of the next dry season.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thai chemicals company Indorama Ventures (IVL.BK) has committed $1.5 billion (£1.24 billion) of investment in recycling as consumers become more aware of the environmental impact of single-use plastic and regulators push for more recycling, it said on Wednesday.

Chikungunya virus has mutated offering greater risk, warns doctor

Dr Manoon Leechawengwongs, a respiratory and critical care specialist at Bangkok’s Vichaiyut Hospital, went online to warn Bangkok residents that the chikungunya virus, spread through the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito, has mutated allowing one mosquito to be the carrier of both chikungunya and dengue viruses.
