Cabinet rewards defectors and failed MP candidates with political posts

The cabinet on Tuesday agreed to reward 17 MPs, who defected from the parties they represented when elected, or had been on their party’s list, and have now joined the Palang Pracharat party, by granting them political appointments.

The mass appointments appear to be intended to buy the defectors’ loyalty to the government and tame simmering resentment among smaller parties in the governing coalition who felt ignored by the Palang Pracharat party.

The new political appointees are:

Former Pheu Thai list MP and former deputy agriculture minister Pornsak Charoenprasert, alias Sia Lao, is now committee member of the vice minister of PM’s Office;

Former Pheu Thai MP Amnuay Klangpa is now a committee member of vice minister of PM’s Office

Former Democrat MP Thawee Suraban is now a committee member of vice minister of PM’s Office

Former Democrat member Tossapol Pengsom is now a committee member of PM’s Office

Former Pheu Thai MP Thirapat Daewcharoensopa is a committee member of vice minister of PM’s Office

Former red-shirt and Pheu Thai member Suporn Atthawong, alias Isarn Rambo, is now a committee member of vice minister of PM’s Office

Palangdham Mai secretary-general Nitat Raiyawa is a committee member of vice minister of PM’s Office

Sorasin Traijakkrapob, a committee member of vice minister of PM’s Office

Charnkrit Detvitak, a committee member of vice minister of PM’s Office

How can a list MP defect and keep their seat?

As I understand it, if for example a list MP drops dead or resigns as an MP, the party merely nominates a new member or the next one on the list becomes the replacement as it is the party that is the winner of the seat due to the number of votes they gained.
Whereas an electorate MP can change parties and remain in parliament as they are the one who is elected.

As he almost certainly defected for personal financial gain, I would suggest he has a new alias:

alias Isarn Greedy <deleted> !

Dear lord! This must be costing to the tax payer a lot to keep this lot happy. All this money spent to give the illusion of democracy. How much longer can they keep it up?

As long as they've got that BIG bank account behind them.

Also the fact that his charge for instigating sedition was dropped in time for him to defect to PPRP.

"I am red shirt" doesn't work any more since the Shins deserted them and cut the money stream
