Inn Between
It seems like a bit of a contradiction when Thailand has kept saying that it wants "quality tourists". By that, I assume the Gov't means more upper-class ones with lots of money to spend. But I really don't think those are the type of people who are hanging around bars in the wee hours of the morning. Besides that, do people really decide where to go on holiday dependent upon the closing time of bars? I'm not against keeping bars open later, but I just can't see it making much if any difference as far as tourism numbers go -- quality ones or not. And wouldn't tourists likely prefer things like safe roads, consistent visa policies, clean beaches, and proper sidewalks more than bars that stay open until 4 AM? tabarin
Bit too late for that now everyone is staying away already + alcohol increased + forex (+ visa). I finally got used to it and now they want to revert it, well whatever, not for me anymore.

balo
Even the nightlife in Singapore is better than Bangkok after midnight, you wouldn't say that 20 years ago.
