LONDON (Reuters) - Britain is hoping the rest of the European Union falls in behind France and Germany and agrees to work on solving a deadlock over Brexit, with officials sensing a glimmer of hope after meetings this week, but conscious of the need for a wider consensus in Europe.

TUNIS (Reuters) - Tunisian police arrested presidential candidate Nabil Karoui on Friday after a court ordered his detention, the Interior Ministry said, in a case involving charges of money laundering but which Karoui's party said was a politically motivated attempt to exclude him from the election race.

Phuket —  Phuket’s old town, with its open-air noodle shops and brightly painted Sino-Portuguese shop fronts, is a favorite social media and selfie backdrop for tourists from China. The island, which has a year-round population of 500,000, typically attracts about 7 million foreign visitors a year, of whom 2 million are Chinese — Thailand’s biggest source of tourists.

Renewed calls for stricter control of illegal fishing equipment




A network of fishermen’s groups, in Thailand’s southern province of Trang, has renewed its call for authorities to control the use of illegal fishing equipment more strictly, in light of the death on Thursday of baby dugong ‘Yamil’ which brought the dugong unnatural death toll this year to 17.

MOPH aims to make Thailand No.1 herb exporter in ASEAN

BANGKOK, 23 August 2019(NNT) - In the past year, the Thai herbal market has grown by more than 30 percent, with exports reaching 2.24 billion baht. The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH), has, therefore, organized a project to launch high quality Thai herbs on the world market to increase the number of marketing channels and promote sales and publicize quality herbal products. The MOPH aims to make Thailand the number one herb exporter in ASEAN.
