I am certain it will sadly disappear from the public's memory very quickly. The Department of Marine and Coastal Resources (DMCR) selling Line stickers to raise funds for the protection of the marine environment helps to raise the issue too, but the government should be taking action by banning plastic, not by getting the public to raise funds. Leonardo DiCaprio raising awareness of plastic usage in Thailand is good, as it causes the 'loss of face' for Thailand and may do something - the same as Bill Gates comments when he visited Bangkok and saw the mess of overhead cables caused a loss of face, forcing the government to act. mok199
Saddly this story, and all the one day wars on plastics and the thumbs up photo opps, change nothing .This nation is oblivious to the plastics problem ,and think only of their next meal,(placed in3-8 plastic bags) from the local street food vendor....the absolute truth... WeekendRaider
DiCaprio "shares" his "responsible feelings" with us. so did Hillary and Bill Clinton. And Obama. .....and that brought us through 5 decades of this nonsense talk. "it's only about some ice melting in 2100". which is much much more dangerous than "Plant Food" or "Mexican Rapists" or the so-called "recession next year" ever was or still is. DiCaprio flies in jet aircraft and 7,800 million people are not going to give up flush toilets, chickens in their backyards, eating pork and not having to use buckets to carry drinking water around while these jerks emit 285 grams per passenger per one kilometer flown of a gas molecule so powerful we measure it in parts per million and it accounts for all of life on Earth as well as why we left the trees 7 or 8 million years ago. and on one trip fly a lot further than a few clicks. what did I get wrong? as long as one Hollywood star.... or one westerner flies to Disneyworld the umpteenth time on a commercial or private jet the rest of us will continue to accelerate to social collapse, blackouts during heat waves and starvation of billions of us. now you know why we love Donald Trump. no nonsense talk. a border wall and US [one agent SRM] Space Force. duh. Krataiboy
Here's a simple exercise for anyone who still believes the global warming/climate change scam is about anything other than making money: Look up how obscenely wealthier the already well-heeled Al Gore has become since inflicting his alarmist, error-strewn video brainwasher, An Inconvenient Truth, on a gullible public.
