One man died and two were seriously injured after a car crossed the reservation and collided head on with a taxi at 3 am on Sunday morning.

The accident happened by the Ford showroom on Klong 4 Lam Lukka, Pathum Thani.

Taxi driver Kuson, 52 was taken to Sai Mai Hospital with leg and shoulder injuries.

Ten meters away by a footpath was 29 year old Weeraphat who had been flung out of a black Honda car.

He was dead from multiple fractures including a broken neck. Money, an apparent gold chain and other personal items of the victim were collected.

Another identified man was also found nearby. He was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Police are not sure who was driving as the injured man was unable to give evidence.

The taxi driver said that he was on his way to get gas at the service station next to a temple when the other car crossed the reservation and hit him.

Khukhot police are investigating.

I use that road a lot. From about 9 pm till early hours there are numerous loonies driving too fast, weaving all over the 3 lanes and u-turns and generally appearing to lack full control of their vehicles. Especially bad at weekends of course.

To be fair, the local police are very good and deal with the peak time rush hour traffic very well, especially as there are numerous schools on that road. But when night falls, so do the driving standards. Many bad accidents on that road.
