Pattaya to Koh Chang

Hi I'm staying in Pattaya in October and looking to go to Koh Chang for a week.  Can anyone recommend a reliable and safe return mini van / bus service that they have used or heard of...and the likely cost.  Probably looking for a hotel to hotel transfer.  Thanks

I'd check with the hotel you are staying at in Pattaya. Many of them have connections with companies that provide such services. There are hundreds of little "agencies" around that can offer mini-van trips to Koh Chang.

Can't make any recommendations as I normally ride there. However a quick search turns up these sites:

https://iamkohchang.com/getting-here/bus-timetables.html

https://www.buspattayakohchang.com/

https://www.pattayaunlimited.com/how-to-get-to-koh-chang-guide/

Hope that helps.

I've used 35 Group Pattaya (tel: 0863663894, located on the 3rd Road, some 50 metres west of Pattaya South Road) three times in the last 2 years and was very impressed. They collect you in a mini-van from your hotel or apartment, go with you on the ferry and then take you to your booked hotel on the island. On return, they again collect you from the hotel on Koh Chang and drop you off at your place in Pattaya. The last time the total fare was 1,050 Baht return.

When returning from Koh Chang they offer you two departure times; I recommend the first departure slot as there is often variable delay with the second departure.

Thanks guys..I'll check out the company on 3rd road when I get there.. much appreciated

used them myself all ok but talk about delays, stopping to pick people up, stopping for gasoline, stopping for pepe and so on 4 hour trip took about 7 hours.

Hi, go to the Koh Chang run companies. On time, no messing  about , good safe drivers, been using them for years. Hotel to hotel, ferry included and good vans. Try Cocodeeboo or iamkohchang , both English, great guys, they do it all for you. Take a look at their websites. I’d never recommend the kamikaze ones from Pattaya. Same prices everywhere.

Hotel to hotel transfer is the timely issue, and I suspect asking your hotel might be the way to go. Minibuses can turn a 4-hour drive into 7 hours. But that would only get you to the mainland ferry terminal. The ferries are fine running every hour taking 45 mins to an hour, but you then have to get from the ferry on Koh Chang to your hotel. There you will have to rely on another songtaew (pickup-taxi) and risk high prices and not getting what you want.

Depending on the type of hotel (ie price and quality) you might be better contacting them to make arrangements. In your own car hotel to hotel could be as little as 6 hours, buses and the rest would see the day and a good part of the evening lost to travelling; for a trip of 7 days two lost travelling?

Pattaya to Koh Chang. Take the Boonsiri High Speed Ferry, much faster and less hassle. They usually run ads on this site.

Does it actually run now? and does it take you to bang bau right down the south of the island or where does it dock on koh chang.
