And never forget that that also applies to 90% of Thai polititians and all those in positions of authority in Thailand. This is compounded by their probable purchase of their jobs rather than getting in based on merit. Most worrying is that this may also apply to physicians.

...physicians,,, yes agreed.

In the longer-term IMHO the absolute worst effect is from seniors at the Education ministry there through nepotism and job purchase.

Just the sort off tourist Thailand is trying to attract.....NOT. Was it really that big a deal ?

At least in Thailand the security use the wand to pat you, at Amsterdam they use their hands, I had rows with them about that, and they threatened to not let me in. As I was not leaving the airport and changing flights, so why did I have to go through security anyway?

i had already done that at Swampy.

There doesn’t seem to be anything sinister about it 😊 Nothing to worry about either:

Unless you are of a certain orientation, try going through security at Amsterdam airport. 😀

The first full body scanners in use at Suvarnabhumi were in the Priority Lane 2016 or 2017 (I'm not sure). There were no way to opt out.

The survey gives you the impression that you have a choice, do you at some airports?

I really doubt that you have a choice anywhere in the world, unless you sit in a wheelchair.

What would be the reason to refuse?

You always have a choice.  Many reasons to refuse.  Maybe I don't want them to see how well-endowed I am.  Perhaps I don't want to be radiated except when I go to the doctor for something medical.

That you know of.  Don't make blanket statements as you don't know.

What's the big secret? Yet another debunked conspiracy theory?

They don't let children go through because of pedophiles who would be attracted to the screening job.  It's that simple.  And someone who said they are too small, I didn't see them turning midgets away.

"Many reasons to refuse"

Give me a few serious reasons to refuse the body scanning at Suvarnabhumi that security will accept. Check this out:

If you refused the body scan in the Priority Lane, they would just point you in the direction of the common security check and Immigration, and if you were unlucky you would have to stand in line for 20min. It always took me 3-4 minutes tops in the Priority Lane, and because I am not paranoid why not accept the full body scan? How do they react in US airports with full body scanners if you refuse?

I reckon my pack a day smoking habit will kill me a lot sooner than an airport scanner.

Damage to DNA.... wonder if that could get me out of paying child support ?
